=inception8 posted a News Article awhile back which informed me of a contest that SciFi Channel was hosting - a contest to design a Steampunk Cylon (from the classic TV show "Battlestar Galactica"). Why would I *not* enter?
Although I already drew a Steampunk Cylon, I was never really happy with the results and always planned to draw it again. This contest gave me a reason (and incentive!).
Enjoy, and comment below!
Special thanks to =Dinogaby for kindly putting the stock background into the picture I drew, since I don't have Photoshop.
Really a great design, it just looks "right" Btw, just out of curiosity: The cylon reminds me a bit of the Warjacks from the tabletop game "Warmachine". Were these a source of inspiration for you, or just coincidence?
I've never heard of "Warmachine," although I'm not really familiar with any tabletop games, to be honest. So nope, this all came from my mind!

BADASS - that's exactly what I was hoping for!! Thanks!

This image really gives Cylons the well-deserved justice, namely since they put the Cybermen and Borg to shame with the fact THEY WERE THE MANLIEST REPTILES SINCE PREDATOR. Ok yeah even though they were reptilian and manly Predator does put the fact they're still a living, non-machine race compared to the Cylons, but that would be a cool image right there, either a robot/steampunk-Predator, the original reptilian form of a Cylon, or a fight between a Cylon and a Predator.

HELL Yeah, man! I'm glad to hear you feel that way...NOTHING beats the Original BSG Cylons, and even the new BSG losers know it. I'm glad you feel that my drawing does them justice!
